Argentina Rising: A Nation Redefining Its Future
Argentina deserves your attention as a “Plan B” destination.
And it deserves your attention now, because it has begun a remarkable economic turnaround. If things continue as they’re going today, you’ll be glad to have Argentina for at least part of your international diversification plan.
And you’ll be glad you got in early…
Today Argentina is in position 68, between Armenia and Sri Lanka… hardly among the world’s wealthiest nations. The World Bank classifies Argentina as an Upper-Middle Income country, and despite some hard times, it’s generally ahead of the pack with respect to most Latin American economies, with a high standard of living and a good infrastructure.
But that said, it has not kept economic pace with Uruguay or Chile, its regional first-world peers.
Argentina’s debt has been an issue for at least a half century. Today’s debt-to-GDP ratio is 83.3%, which is not hopeless… the world average is worse at 93%. (The U.S. is at 123%, which likely is hopeless.)
But there’s cause for optimism…
Javier Milei has served as Argentina’s president since December 2023. As he was sworn into office, inflation was at 143%, and about 57.4% of Argentines were living in poverty, according to a study by the Catholic University of Argentina.
In retrospect, the election of Javier Milei was the low point… and it represents a turning point.
And as you’ll see below, there’s reason to believe that the next chapter for Argentina is beginning with a sharp turnaround and an upward climb.
Economic issues aside, Argentina has a lot going for it…

Buenos Aires is one of the world’s best cities. It would draw people to the country even if it were the only city in Argentina.
Entrepreneurs claim that it’s a great place for hiring a workforce, with its skilled, highly educated population. (College education is free in Argentina.)
And entrepreneurs also claim that Argentina is in the perfect time zone for doing business with the U.S. and Europe. At GMT-3, they’re two hours ahead of New York, and three hours behind London.
Argentina is crypto-friendly, currently enjoying a high adoption rate, wide acceptance, and legal recognition.
If you’re pursuing citizenship, Argentina has a strong passport, with visa-free entry to most of the world’s countries (more on this later).
Argentina is intrinsically beautiful, with an extremely diverse landscape. You can experience snow skiing high in the Andes, to a world-class wine region, to the high deserts of the north, and several first-world, livable cities… plus 2,900 miles of Atlantic coastline.
Argentina has a strong European influence which sets it apart from other Latin American countries. The culture is predominantly Italian, with 62% of the population of Italian ancestry.
For wine lovers, it’s a wine and culinary paradise with reasonable prices for an elegant lifestyle.
The cost of living is low, with properties being an exceptional bargain. You’ll spend a fraction of what life would cost you in the U.S. or Canada.
Best of all, Argentina offers a high quality of life, unparalleled in most of Latin America.
There’s a lot to draw you to Argentina… so let’s look at how it stands up as a Plan B destination…
Sincerely,
Lee Harrison
